To choose a winner, What's Up Yukon is asking for editorial submissions of approximately
500 - 650 words that explain why Europe is a fantastic place to visit. These stories can be based on previous trips or just on research. Both methods are equally acceptable.
Stories under consideration will be published
in What's Up Yukon’s print issue and
posted online at www.whatsupyukon.com.
The submission deadline is Monday, April 30, 2012
The winning entry will be announced May 10, 2012.

The winner will be asked to write two 500-650 word
stories about their experiences in Frankfurt or other destinations in Europe,
if they decide to travel further. These stories, along with any suitable photos provided, will be printed in What's Up Yukon.
Employees of Condor or What's Up Yukon are not eligible to compete.
Writers are not employees of What's Up Yukon and are free to submit.
Top Ten Finalist will be selected and forwarded to Condor Airlines to choose the final story winner.
Only stories written in English will be accepted
Writers need not be Yukon residents,
but point of departure for the flight to Frankfurt is Whitehorse
JUDGING CRITERIA
To determine a winner, stories will be judged by the
Editorial Department of What's Up Yukon and representatives of Condor Airlines.
These stories will be scored from 1 to 100 and weighted according to these criteria:
Factual Accuracy 25
Enthusiasm 15
Social Media Use 10
(Facebook/Twitter/WUY website)
Storytelling skills 25
Relevance to the Yukon 10
Spelling and grammar 10
Suitable length 5
Stories published in What's Up Yukon or on their website
may be subject to minor editorial changes (such as spelling and punctuation),
but judging will be based on the original stories as submitted.
Grand Prize Details
Condor Airlines is offering “Round-trip tickets for two”
Whitehorse, Yukon to Frankfurt, Germany, taxes not included.
The trip can not be split into two separate flights.
If the second ticket is not used it has no cash value and cannot be used at a later date.
Travellers must return by Sept. 30, 2012
Flight departures:
May 27, 2012, June 10, 2012 and June 24th through September 30th , Sunday departures.
Some restrictions on travel times apply.
Subject to availability and cannot be extended to 2013.
This offer is exclusively available to the winner of the contest,
it is not transferable and both parties must travel together.
Accommodation, food and travel within Europe are the responsibility of the winner and guest.
